I have been to Nepal on this summer season for volunteering. I was organised to this opportunity by Volunteer for Nepal. I spent three weeks in Nepal. Apparently I was in confusing before going Nepal and no idea how I can volunteer in Nepal. I had heard much about the country, eventually I self decided to go to Nepal. Volunteer for Nepal organised to me for volunteering and I did volunteer two weeks in a children home. Staying with kids of children home was awesome and memorable. I feel very appropriate in chosen volunteering for children. They are really in need of caring. Also I met other volunteers from other countries. After two weeks I went to Pokhara and Chitwan, that are most visited and preferred by tourist. I can’t explain in words the beauty of visited sites. Definitely I will visit next time. I am sure you won’t regret it.
I am very thankful to the organisation ‘Volunteer for Nepal’ and Gajendra, who helped in all the time.
I have known Gajendra Lohorung Rai for over five years. He has helped me enormously over the years on visits outside Kathmandu, doing research, translation work and organising accommodation and interviews. He is resourceful, patient, kind and extremely helpful.
‘Volunteer for Nepal’ is a new venture and Gajendra has all the skills and experience necessary for making the project successful. He has much experience of helping Westerners, since he has worked for many years in the hotel business, and volunteer organization, meeting tourists from all over the world. He has a good understanding of Westerners’ needs; his English is good and he has worked with a similar volunteering agency and therefore has direct knowledge of what is required in volunteering. Gajendra is approachable, trustworthy and a good person, who will support volunteers at every step to ensure that those applying will have good volunteering opportunities and interesting experiences.

I have known and worked with Gajendra for four years and he always been reliable, helpful and extremely knowledgeable about his country.‘Volunteer for Nepal’ is a new organisation but Gajendra has worked with a similar one and has personally vetted the places where volunteers will go. His spoken English is very good and his experience of working in the volunteer organizations given him a good awareness of the needs of foreign travellers. I am confident that he will go out of his way to make the experience of the volunteers he places a memorable and valuable one.
